Artist Statement

My work is a profound exploration of the human spirit, a narrative forged in the fires of perseverance, sexual exploration, and the transformative power of art. My sculptures, each a testament to my life’s journey, emerge from the depths of my soul, embodying the trials, triumphs, and the relentless pursuit of artistic enlightenment that have defined my existence.

My journey began in the unassuming town of Utica, NY, where my passion for art was first ignited. As a young scholar, I was drawn to the world of archaeology at Antioch College, but life had other plans. My creative compass was soon redirected, leading me away from the academic path and into the world of welding, where I honed my craft with precision and fervor.

The call of adventure led me to the wilderness of Africa, the Cambodian killing fields, and escaped siege of Sarajevo.

These experiences were transformative, revealing profound truths about humanity and the endless reservoirs of inspiration within the worlds cultures. Upon my return, I retreated to the deep wilderness of Schuylerville, NY, where I built a rustic home and dedicated myself entirely to welding and my sculpture. In the seclusion of this sanctuary, I surrendered to my creative impulses, allowing my wild spirit to shape the steel that would become my masterpieces.

My art has always been a reflection of my emotional odyssey. I persisted, fashioning new sculptures that captured the intricate mosaic of my life’s journey. Each piece is a monument to my fortitude, a beacon proclaiming that the indomitable spirit of self-expression endures even in the darkest times.

After grappling with personal demons and enduring a period of profound introspection within the deep forest of Schuylerville NY, I emerged with a renewed understanding of existence. My sculptures now stand as a testament to my resilience and irrepressible spirit. They transcend mere artistic expression, becoming conduits of introspection that invite viewers to explore the intricate nuances of human emotion.

For those who seek more than mere aesthetic appeal, my work promises to spark conversations, stir emotions, and leave a lasting impression. Each sculpture is a symbol of the human spirit’s enduring resilience and boundless capacity for transformation—a piece of artistic brilliance forged in the shadows, now illuminating the world with its radiant light.

My Double Vision Gets the Best of Me

Indulge me as I recount my tale—a saga woven with threads of mystery and wonder. I am a man of peculiar sight and singular vision.

As an adult, I've grappled with glaucoma and Strabismus, a condition that bestowed upon me the curious gift of dual perception. While my left eye languished in the shadows of obscurity, my right eye shone forth with a brilliance that defied its solitary existence.

My vision transcends mere physical optics, delving into the realms of imagination and creativity. In my world, reality danced to the whims of my mind, and every bar of steel bore the mark of possibility.

My sculptures, exist not just in three-dimensional space, but in a realm where form and function intertwine in perfect harmony. Each creation was a symphony of perception, a testament to the depths of my imagination, my desires.

When I cast my gaze upon you with my right eye, know that I saw not just the surface, but the very essence of your being. My Strabismic vision became a wellspring of inspiration, driving me to new heights of artistic thought.

As I continue to forge my artistic legacy, remember that my impact upon the world transcends mere sight. For in the depths of my dual dimensions, lies the true essence of creativity and wonder.
